Saddle Fitting
in Shropshire, Mid Wales, Staffordshire and the surrounding areas

I believe that saddle fitting is more than just a technical process—it’s about understanding the unique connection between horse and rider. A holistic approach considers the physical, emotional, and performance needs of both, ensuring that every fit enhances comfort, performance, and overall well-being.
Why Choose a Holistic Approach to Saddle Fitting?
A well fitted saddle does more than just provide comfort; it supports your horse’s health and enhances their movement, while also allowing you, the rider, to perform at your best. My approach to saddle fitting goes beyond measurements and technical specifications—it considers the biomechanics of the horse, the rider’s posture, and the specific demands of your discipline.
How does my approach work?
Horse-Centered Fitting: Every horse is different. I take into account the shape, muscle development, and movement patterns of your horse to ensure a saddle that supports them throughout their range of motion, reducing the risk of soreness or injury.
Rider’s Comfort: Your saddle should feel like an extension of your body. I focus on your posture, seat alignment, and leg position to ensure you’re as comfortable and balanced as possible.
Dynamic Fit: A good saddle fit is not a “one size fits all” solution. I will take into account how both horse and rider move in motion.
Post-Fitting Support: Saddle fitting is an ongoing process. I provide follow-up services to make sure the fit continues to support both horse and rider as conditions change over time.
The Benefits of a Holistic Saddle Fit
Improved Horse Performance: A well-fitted saddle promotes freedom of movement, helping your horse perform at their best, whether you’re riding for pleasure or competition.
Enhanced Rider Comfort: A saddle that fits properly ensures that you remain comfortable and balanced, reducing strain and increasing your ability to ride effectively.
Better Relationship with Your Horse: A comfortable, well-fitted saddle creates a positive experience for both horse and rider, fostering trust and improving communication.
Long-Term Health: Proper saddle fit prevents soreness, muscle atrophy, and behavioral issues caused by ill-fitting gear.

Good saddle fit for both horse and rider is something I am very passionate about and it’s never just about the saddle! I pride myself on working with you to get the very best from your horse and this is why every saddle fitting consultation includes a gait analysis and ridden assessment.
“Every horse has a right to be comfortable”
As well as my extensive saddle fitting training, I have also studied anatomy and biomechanics. This means that I can work together with you to identify any imbalance or asymmetry with either horse or rider and then work as a team alongside your Physio, Vet, instructor etc to get the very best out of you as a partnership.
